Infinix has entered the Indian smartphone market and they made their debut in India with Infinix Note 4 and Infinix Hot 4 Pro, with more to come.
The announcement was made on August 1 and the two phones went on sale on Flipkart – one of Indian’s largest online store – but at different times.
Transsion Holdings, the parent company of Infinix already have presence in India with their other brands (Tecno and Itel) and they enjoy a fair share of the smartphone market with those two brands. Now with Infinix in the market too, the look set to take over the market.
As a matter of fact, the Transsion Holding eyes 10% share of the smartphone market with Infinix brand alone.
Transsion Holding also recently purchased Spice – a feature phone company in India – in their bid to continue to expand their offering.
The move to dominate the smartphone market in India is coming just after they launched a new entry level smartphone called Infinix Smart. You can learn more about Infinix Smart including full specification here.
According to Android headlines, the two device launched in India will cater to the budget and lower mid-range segment.
Infinix Note 4 is priced at Rs. 8,999 ($140). It will be available in three colors, namely Ice Blue, Champagne Gold, and also Milan Black. The Infinix Hot 4 Pro, on the other hand, is the firm’s budget offering. It is priced at Rs. 7,499 ($117) and will be available in Bordeaux Red, Quartz Black, and Magic Gold colors.
Both devices offer about the same specs with Infinix Note 4 being slightly ahead of the Infinix Hot 4 Pro.
Rumors have it that Infinix Mobility is also planning to launch their most premium phones – Infinix Zero 4 and Infinix Zero 4 Plus – in India soon.
The global head of Infinix, Benjamin, was also quoted to say that they plan to launch “made for India” phones soon.
So far, it has been going according to plan for Transsion Holding as they continue to move take over the smartphone world.
